Plan Your Visit

We know that visiting a church for the first time can feel a little intimidating. Our hope is to make your experience at Kendall Park Baptist refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family.

From the moment you arrive, you can expect:

  • Helpful preaching and teaching rooted in God’s Word
  • Uplifting, Christ-centered music
  • Friendly people who are genuinely glad to meet you
  • A welcoming environment where you can feel at home

We want your first visit to be comfortable and encouraging. Here are a few answers to common questions and what you can expect when you join us:

  • Where are you located?

  • What does it mean to be a Baptist church?

Although the name Baptist often carries certain stereotypes, we hope you’ll find that we are simply a Bible-teaching, Gospel-centered, Christ-exalting, God-glorifying church. We believe baptism is for those who repent of their sins and trust in Christ, and that each local church has the responsibility to govern itself.

  • What are your services like?

Our services tend to be pretty simple.

As you enter our church, look for our friendly receptionist at the Welcome Desk who will help direct you and your children to their classrooms or service. Most adults attend the Worship Service where we sing thoughtful and Scripturally-driven music. The music is always followed by a clear, helpful, and challenging Bible message from Pastor Josh John.

We believe it is best to preach through books of the Bible in sequence, the main point of every sermon being the main point of the text (Expository Preaching). This service is a little over one hour and a half in length.

  • What style of music should I expect?

We believe the songs we sing should be Christ-exalting, God-glorifying, and saturated with Scripture. Instruments serve to support and encourage the congregation as we lift our voices to Jesus with freedom and joy. Because we value the richness of church history, it’s not unusual to hear a hymn from the 1600s alongside a song written in the 2020s. You can expect a thoughtful blend of old and new songs that magnify Christ, led with the goal of being biblically faithful and full of praise to God.

  • What should I wear when I come?

There is no dress code at Kendall Park Baptist Church for members or guests. You’ll see a variety of attire, from casual to more traditional “Sunday” dress. While some choose to dress up as a way of honoring the privilege of worshiping the King of kings, we recognize that the Lord is far more concerned with the heart than with clothing. We count it a privilege to worship the King of kings, and we encourage everyone to come dressed in a way that honors Him.

  • What should I do with my children?

Parents are always welcome to keep their children with them in the service, and many families choose to do so.

For those who prefer, we provide safe, clean, and well-staffed options for children:

    • Nursery (ages 0–3): Available during both the 10:00am worship service and the 11:30am LifeGroup hour. Our nursery is staffed by qualified, caring workers who provide a secure and loving environment.
    • Children’s Classes (ages 3–6th grade): Fun, engaging, and Bible-centered classes designed to help children learn God’s Word in memorable ways. These classes are offered during both the main worship service (10:00am) and the LifeGroup hour (11:30am), and are led by trained, friendly teachers and helpers.
  • Is there something for my teens?

Our student ministries serve both Junior and Senior High School students. Teens join their parents for the 10:00am worship service and then attend a one-hour class during LifeGroups at 11:30am. In addition, we offer a Youth Group Bible Study on Wednesday nights from 7:00–8:30pm, where students can dive deeper into God’s Word and build community with their peers.

  • Will I be asked to give an offering?

We don’t invite you to Kendall Park Baptist Church for your offering—we hope you’ll come so we can give to you! Our desire is for you to experience a warm family spirit, hear God’s Word, and learn more of God's grace given to you in Jesus!

Please don’t feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest. Offerings are an important part of worship for those who covenant with us through memebership. The offering box is located on the side of the welcome desk, at the entrance to the auditorium, and you can also give online.
